July 2009 - Casey Smith Appointed New Associate Director of Research Tandent Vision Science is pleased to announce the appointment of Casey A. Smith as our new Associate Director of Research. Smith was educated at Swarthmore College and Cornell University Graduate School prior to joining Tandent. At Swarthmore College, Smith was a student of Professor Bruce Maxwell, who is now Tandent's Director of Research and who describes Smith as “the best student I have ever taught”. |

July 2009 - Howard Taub, Formerly Vice President and Associate Director, HP Labs, Joins Tandent as Director of Strategic Partnerships Tandent Vision Science is pleased to announce that Howard Taub has joined Tandent as Director of Strategic Partnerships. Taub, a renowned expert in digital imaging, was at HP Labs for over 26 years most recently as vice president and associate director managing the lab's printing and imaging relationships and contributing to strategic planning and management. Previously, he was vice president and director of the Printing and Imaging Research Center at HP Labs managing research programs in several areas including digital imaging. Taub earned his PhD in Solid State Physics from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in New York City. He is an inventor on more than 20 patents in the printing and imaging area. |

Former Director of Licensing at Dolby Labs, Schummer has over 30 years of experience developing innovative and profitable licensing programs in Europe, North America and Asia. During his 28 years at Dolby Labs he established and managed the consumer division which was responsible for making the Dolby technology a household name. He was also the driving force behind the development of a number of audio joint licensing patent programs, and the founding and growth of Via Licensing, one of the worlds leading patent pool administrators. |

D'Arienzo brings a wealth of knowledge to Tandent with over 30 years of experience guiding the IP strategies of leading US technology companies. He is admitted to the bars of New York, the U.S. District Court and Northern District of California. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. D'Arienzo received a B.S. from the Stevens Institute of Technology and a J.D. from St. John's University where he was on the Law Review. |
